What is the Difference Between Chemical and Mineral SPF?
Chemical sunscreens absorb into the skin, whereas mineral sunscreens sit on top. Our 100% mineral sunscreen is Hawaii Act 104 Reef Compliant and uses Zinc Oxide to create a physical barrier against UVA/UVB rays for a broad-spectrum shield without chemicals. Those with sensitive skin tend to prefer mineral sunscreen. The ingredients in our mineral SPF sprays and lotions may take longer to rub in but do not need to be applied prior to sun exposure; they work immediately. Chemical sunscreens need to be applied at least 15 minutes before sun exposure to provide UV protection.
The average chemical sunscreen uses harsh ingredients that can dry the skin and cause irritation, which is why our Classic Sunscreen only uses clean, hydrating, vegan ingredients.
Is Mineral Sunscreen Waterproof?
