Shea Butter is a fat that comes from the nut of the African Shea Tree. It is considered a “skin superfood” because of all the rich benefits it provides. Shea Butter is widely known to moisturize and soothe irritation, which makes it an ideal ingredient in a soap bar for dry skin.
Shea Butter is nature’s answer to dry skin. It is packed with vitamins and fatty acids that:
- Soothe sore, dry skin and promote healing
- Deeply moisturize
- Reduce redness + inflammation
- Protect from further drying
- Soften hard skin such as on your heels, cuticles, elbows, and knuckles
By having Shea Butter as an ingredient in your soap, you simultaneously moisturize your skin while you cleanse it. Many soaps are made with drying ingredients like alcohol, so although they clean your skin, they leave it feeling dry. By using a soap that is made without drying ingredients and with a moisturizing ingredient like Shea Butter, you’ll leave the shower both hydrated and clean.
